Evey Does Troika!
A downloadable game
WHAT IS THIS?
This is how I personally modify Troika!, an rpg I adore, after years of playing, running, and writing for the game system.
It includes small changes to character generation, a generous expansion upon the Luck score, and more.
Written to be player facing, this zine walks a potentially new player through making a character and the basics of play, with all my additions and changes baked in.
Also features a Bonus Background, the Final Girl inspired "Final Gremlin"!
In Epub and Plain text.

I like your house rules. Especially the Luck rules. I like the Luck roll to avoid the cost of spellcasting. Is a 12 on a Luck roll a crit fail? What if you critically fail the spellcasting Luck roll? Double cost? Roll on a Spell Fumble or Corruption table?
Recovering Luck too. Your art and creativity, plus leisure time, slant is a good one. My favorite Luck recovery mechanic from any game is DCC Lankhmar, where carousing restores Luck. Very relevant to the fiction.
Also, including art means you could detail the venues and exhibits, or strange archaeological ruins, or events and opportunities to gain Luck that happen to occur. Hmm. Inspiration coming on.
personally with a double 6 critical failure on the luck dice, I would maybe make them roll on the OOPS table and pay the stamina cost.
if the spell was to like boil water for soup I’d probably not do the OOPS roll, but if it was to like curse someone’s bloodline or make fire rain from the sky then they can roll oops too.
i kinda think of magic in Troika as like weaponized serendipity. how much are they asking of serendipity? is the question I ask myself in those sorta situations
Very nice stuff! I do think the rules to regain Luck are a bit broken: i would change it to (at most) 1d3 up to three times a day.
Seems Cool!
I like the whimsy in the additional Luck rules. This document has rekindled my love for Fighting Fantasy & Troika, thanks for sharing. (Also, yay, epub!)
